To lay the foundation for my journey into medicine, I chose to enroll in Singapore Polytechnic’s Biomedical Science course. It was a decision that shaped my path in more ways than I could have imagined. SP stood out because of its strong emphasis on practical, hands-on learning and its reputation for excellence in biomedical education. "From a young age, I dreamed of becoming someone who could offer comfort and instill trust in patients during their most vulnerable moments. This aspiration was shaped by my personal experience of receiving emotional support from a compassionate doctor during my own treatment. Watching the care extended to my family members, coupled with volunteering and job-shadowing experiences at various hospitals, solidified my resolve to pursue a career in medicine. I was determined to earn the privilege of walking alongside patients throughout their medical journeys.

Enrolling in Singapore Polytechnic’s Biomedical Science course was a pivotal step in my journey. The program provided a strong foundation, deepening my theoretical understanding of the human body and sharpening my laboratory skills essential for biomedical research. SP’s industry-standard facilities and experienced professors made complex concepts—like the mechanisms of disease development—accessible and engaging. My internship at A*STAR, further fuelled my passion for medicine as I saw the potential of therapeutic research to improve patient outcomes. This comprehensive education not only prepared me for medical school but also gave me a deeper appreciation of the medical sciences, making the transition to studying Medicine smoother and more fulfilling."
