The PFP curriculum offered a hands-on learning environment, exposure to diverse engineering fundamentals, and essential soft skills that contributed to my personal and professional growth. Memorable projects included designing an Automated Recycling Machine and organizing community initiatives, which instilled a sense of purpose and community orientation in me. 2023 SP Lee Kuan Yew Award | PFP 6th Cohort (Diploma in Marine Engineering)

I chose SP after learning about it from seniors, deciding on the Diploma in Marine Engineering due to my interest in ships. One memorable project involved creating a smart insulin watch prototype with friends from different courses. The PFP curriculum balanced work and play, aiding our transition to Year 1 and improving our basic software skills. PFP lecturers made learning enjoyable and emphasized important principles, which influenced my perspective on education and society. SP encouraged me to take risks and focus on character development, leading me to pursue a career in sailing after graduation. Overall, SP provided a supportive environment where lifelong friendships were formed.

2021 SP Lee Kuan Yew Award | PFP 5th Cohort (Diploma in Mechatronics & Robotics)

As a final-year student at NTU EEE, I credit my holistic development to the PFP at Singapore Polytechnic. My interest in engineering was sparked by an AEM program in secondary school, leading me to pursue a diploma in mechatronics and robotics at SP. I recall memorable experiences like the LEAP camp and service-learning project during PFP. The PFP curriculum balanced theory, practical work, and co-curricular activities, helping me build confidence and presentation skills. My education at SP prepared me well for my university studies and career, including receiving the PSC engineering scholarship and participating in various international programmes.
