Why does the Common Core Curriculum
matter to me in 2025?

The Common Core Curriculum (CCC) prepares you for a changing world. The 10 modules cover important human and digital skills for any job.

The CCC also provides a wide learning experience to examine local and global issues based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These modules help you understand real-world issues and the impact on different communities, and equip you with skills to create a better, sustainable Singapore and world.

Connect Skills

Acquire Essential In-demand Skills

The increase in sophisticated and hybrid job roles require individuals to have a varied skill set, consisting of both emerging digital, and human skills. From data fluency and AI to critical thinking and persuasion, learn how these different disciplines are connected and taught in the CCC.

Go Broad or Go Deep

The CCC provides baseline skills that will complement what you will learn in your diploma. School-specific case scenarios and examples will be used to help you connect the skills in the CCC and your course of study.

In SP, you can chart your own learning path when choosing electives. If you are interested in any foundational skills acquired in the CCC, choose electives that will help you broaden or deepen these skills.

Create Solutions

Learn multiple ways to solve problems

Learn how to use creative, algorithmic, data-driven, user-centred and analytical approaches to tackle complex problems of the world.

Through the Sustainable Innovation Project (SIP) module, you will apply Design Thinking and work with peers from different diplomas to create innovative prototype solutions for real-life issues faced by a local community.

Champion Sustainability

Build a more sustainable Singapore and world

The SDGs run thematically across the 10 CCC modules. You will be introduced to sustainability issues faced by local, regional and global communities, with a particular focus on the Singapore Green Plan, a nationwide effort to meet Singapore’s environmental goals.

With the emerging digital and human skills acquired, you can be inspired to build a better and more sustainable future for you and the world.
