Alumna, Diploma in Integrated Events & Project Management
2024 DEPM Gold Medallist
Choosing SP was an easy decision for me due to its established reputation and the engaging modules offered in my course. I was particularly drawn to the opportunity to organize real-life events, both within the school and in partnership with industry leaders, which I found incredibly appealing.
One of my favorite modules has been Economics, a subject I first encountered in Secondary School and one that has always fascinated me. This foundation paved the way for a transformative internship experience in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry. It was here that I truly grasped the practical applications of my studies, gaining insights into the working world and seeing how theory translates into action.
Participating in the AFECA MICE Youth Challenge was another highlight of my journey at SP. This eye-opening experience allowed me to connect with students from different institutions and countries, enriching my perspective on the industry. Additionally, my involvement in the SP Environment CCA was particularly memorable, especially when I created my own coaster and carabiner from recycled plastics during a workshop.
While managing various group projects presented its challenges, it also taught me invaluable time management skills. I was pleasantly surprised by the autonomy in my schedule, which allowed me to pursue my interests more freely than in secondary school.
Overall, my time at SP has equipped me with practical skills and experiences that prepare me for the future. I am especially grateful for the support from my lecturer, Mrs. Goh Chor Luan, who showed genuine interest in her students’ lives and was always encouraging.
