Accelerated Pathway Programmes (APPs)
The SP-NUS and SP-SUTD Accelerated Pathway Programmes (APPs) are specially designed initiatives that allow students to take selected university modules while pursuing their diploma courses at Singapore Polytechnic (SP). The module credits earned are not only counted towards the completion of the SP diploma but are also recognised by the respective universities for credit exemptions, should students continue their studies at NUS or SUTD.
Eligibility
Students enrolling in the following diploma courses offered by the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) are eligible for the APPs:
Each APP offers up to 20 places for eligible Year 1 EEE students. Selection is based on academic merit and an interview conducted by the respective universities.
Programme Highlights
Under the APPs, students will take modules taught by NUS or SUTD at the university campus during the final semester of their diploma course, in place of SP elective modules. This unique opportunity allows students to study alongside university students and gain early exposure to advanced learning environments.
Students who eventually pursue their degree at NUS or SUTD may receive credit exemptions based on their performance in these university modules and the degree programme they choose. This could potentially shorten the time required to complete their degree programme.

APP Success Stories
The SP-NUS APP, launched in 2020, was the first of its kind in Singapore. It was followed by the SP-SUTD APP in 2021. Over the years, many EEE students have successfully completed these programmes, enjoying the unique opportunity to experience university life while earning credit exemptions for their future studies.
Testimonials
Associate Professor Tham Cheng Khong from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at NUS shared, "It has been our pleasure to host SP students under the SP-NUS APP. We look forward to welcoming them to our B.Eng.(EE) programme and hope to see more SP students joining the APP in the coming years."
Students who participated in the APPs have praised the programme for its enriching academic and cultural exposure. Below is some sharing from past APP participants:
