EEE alumnus Felix Lee is not your typical engineering student.
His is not a story of a boy with a low PSLE score who made good at SP.
No, Felix went a step further.
His experience with a low PSLE score brought to the fore the plights of other students like him who are often written off before being given a chance to prove themselves. Knowing all too clearly that the lack of opportunities can alter a person's future, it fuelled in him a passion to open doors to the underdogs.
Most people have a passion.
What distinguishes Felix from the rest is his conviction in and relentless pursuit of his passion. At 20, he booked a one-way ticket to San Jose, California, to line up meetings with tech professionals. He persevered for 30 days, no matter the countless rejections.
Today, at age 27, Felix is the CEO of global disruptor ADPList, a global platform to connect mentors with mentees. For him, it was more than a business. Unlike conventional mentorship models with selective membership and high fees, ADPList is free. It was his mission to level the playing field and empower all to take charge of their careers, regardless of their backgrounds.
One key takeaway Felix offered is this: "Don't ever think the world is against you. Keep your head high - it's yours for the taking, if you're hungry enough."
EEE is proud of Felix, not merely because of his successful business venture, but more crucially, we admire his conviction to a meaningful cause and his determination to pursue it, and in turn, better society.
