SP has prepared me for the real world by providing hands-on learning and fostering creativity in engineering solutions! Dr. Ong Chee Fatt, in particular, was an inspiring mentor during our AI-focused FYP, guiding us patiently through new concepts.
Another reason I chose SP was because of its convenience, being right at the doorstep of the MRT. I’ve also always been fascinated by how structures are built, along with a keen interest in transportation, especially how MRT systems are constructed. This led me to pursue the Diploma in Civil Engineering (DCE).
My favourite module is Reinforced Concrete Design & CAD. I enjoyed learning how steel reinforcement bars are designed to ensure the structural integrity of concrete. Using Revit, a 3D modelling software, to model these bars in concrete elements was an exciting hands-on experience.
One of my best memories in SP was receiving constant support from my friends and lecturers. During my internship with the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), I gained valuable experience working on surveying projects using technologies like LiDAR.
