Alumnus, Diploma in Interior Design
2022 DID Gold Medallist
I’ve always been interested in the creative field, and interior design felt like the most persuasive option for my family. While I originally aimed for architecture, I realised interior design allowed me to balance my passion for design and my family’s expectations. I chose SP after hearing good things from a friend, and although I didn’t get in through EAE, I joined through JAE later on.
What I appreciate most about my course is the combination of creativity and problem-solving. I’ve grown to enjoy solving spatial challenges and learning about material applications. While designing is often about bringing artistic dreams to reality, what truly kept me grounded were my friends and the collaborative environment. Being in the studio, whether rushing for deadlines or exchanging ideas, provided a constant source of support.
Through my internship at Fraction, I discovered a broader scope of design beyond interior spaces, expanding my skills in sketching, research, and general design. This exposure inspired me to continue improving as a versatile designer.
Ten years from now, I hope to explore different design fields while building on the skills I’ve gained, and I’m eager to see where my passion leads.
