I am currently in my final year of the Diploma in Applied AI and Analytics (DAAA), currently on my full year internship at DSTA. My journey began with the DCITP, before heading to DAAA after one semester. I chose DCITP for multiple reasons. While I had a keen interest in AI and analytics, I wasn't entirely sure if it was the right fit for me. DCITP provided the opportunity and flexibility which was beneficial for me. In addition, it allows a broad exposure with a wide range of modules covering the fundamentals of each of the three key courses. By sharing what I experienced, I hope to give future applicants insight into what they can expect from DCITP, enabling them to make informed decisions based on their interests and aspirations.

DCITP has benefited me in multiple ways. It provides the opportunity to have more time to consider which course to head into and also equip with the fundamentals of each course. One of the key reasons for joining was option to “delay” my decision by one semester, and through this semester I get to experience different disciplines of modules. DCITP with modules like Front-End Web Development (FED), Mathematics, Fundamentals of Computing (FOC) has really provided me with insights into the 3 different courses. For example FED showed me how DIT will be like in general, the maths module provided a glimpse of how DAAA is and FOC showed the fundamental skills needed for DISM (now known as DCDF). These modules may just provide the fundamental skills but it revealed to me where my strength is and where my weaknesses were, which firmed up my decision in joining DAAA.

I hope future students, especially those that are undecided reading this, will see it as an opportunity in exploring different areas of ICT through DCITP. This program offers a unique opportunity to discover your passion and gain the experiences needed to make an informed decision. Throughout this journey, I have held onto a simple motto: 'Never Give Up'. While it may seem cliché, the challenges and struggles one faces are common. Each struggle overcome is a step towards your goals and a deeper understanding of your chosen field In the end, I hope this can ensure you make an informed decision and the best decision for yourself.
