Course Objective

This course objective is to provide participants with a vendor agnostic knowledge on the evolution of 5G technology and the requirements as we enter 5G. Participants will gain an understanding of 5G RAN concepts, primary key technology areas, its architecture, requirements and applications, benefits and deployment scenario.

Participants will understand 5G RAN architecture and its key technologies. How to apply 5G as a technology to a typical operations environment. Analyze key radio principles and concepts like Massive MIMO, beamforming, Ultra Lean Design & Dynamic TDD and examine use cases.

By completing the Overview course with 2 other courses (including this) in the 5G Industry course series, participants will be awarded with the SP Ericsson 5G Industry Practitioner Certificate.

5G Radio Access Network, based on 5G RAN architecture such as Distributed RAN and Centralized RAN Architecture, is considered to be an important topic for technical professionals and business executives in understanding the key benefits and opportunities for 5G technologies such as 5G RAN slicing.
