Alex Siek Min Ping, an alumnus of SP’s School of Computing, has been awarded the esteemed NTU Turing AI Scholars Programme (TAISP) Scholarship. Alex is now a freshman in Nanyang Technological University’s (NTU) Bachelor of Computing (Computer Science) programme.
Alex’s journey of academic excellence began at SP, where he graduated in 2022 with a Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) with Merit. He also received the Dell Technologies Prize and was frequently listed on the Director’s Honour Roll.
The NTU Turing AI Scholars Programme grooms students to become AI experts with a global perspective. Graduates will gain cutting-edge knowledge in AI, enabling them to drive innovative solutions that position Singapore as a leader in AI adoption for economic and national defence strategies.
Reflecting on his time at SP, Alex shares, “My days at SP SoC laid a strong foundation for the challenges at NTU. The balance between fun and work is tough, but SP’s emphasis on independent learning and problem-solving prepared me well. The practical experience and soft skills I gained are invaluable.”
