The competition saw fierce participation, with up to 15 teams shortlisted for the solution development phase. These teams demonstrated cutting-edge solutions that leveraged AI and HPC to address complex challenges across various sectors. The DAAA team's winning solution stood out for its exceptional innovation, technical excellence, and potential for real-world impact. Their solution in using a fine-tuned large language model (LLM) to improve radiographer report generation impressed the judges with the level of technical sophistication in the use of LLMs.

“Winning the HPC-AI Innovation Challenge 2023 was an enriching experience for our team of four students from the DAAA course. This competition provided us with a unique platform to apply our technical and soft skills in a real-world setting. The DAAA course provided us with a solid foundation in AI, covering essential areas like Deep Learning and MLOps. It also emphasized teamwork, problem-solving, and innovation. These skills enabled us to work effectively as a team and develop a winning solution.”
