The AI & Data field is rapidly evolving, these electives are designed to enhance student capabilities in specific areas within the Data & AI domain, such as Generative AI with Large Language Models, Big Data Technologies, and Graph Analytics for Data Science. Students are required to choose one of these electives.
Gaining Real-World Experience Apply your skills through internships or projects. Choose from the Industry Project Pathway, which includes a final year project, the University Pathway, or the Year-long Internship Pathway. In Year 3, students in the Applied AI & Analytics programme can choose between a year-long internship, university pathway, or industry project. SP offers internships at leading organisations, including Accenture, A*Star Research Institute, Foodpanda, Bank of Singapore, GovTech and Synapxe. These internships, a 44-week Year-Long internship or a 22-week internship for the Industry Project students can lead to job offers in roles like Junior Data Analyst, AI developer or AI/Machine Learning Engineer.
Internships let you network with professionals, gain industry insights, and explore job opportunities, providing a real feel for your industry. SP offers coaching to boost your confidence and employability. Internships broaden your perspective, enhance decision-making, and lead to higher starting salaries, business exposure, and valuable networking.
Overseas exposure helps broaden your horizons. Understanding globalisation and working with diverse cultures is important in a global city like Singapore. The Diploma in Applied AI & Analytics students and alumni have experienced international internships and exchanges, including the LeX Experience, enriching their worldviews and career prospects. Students in some CCAs also have opportunities to represent Singapore abroad and gain international experience.
