Applied AI & Analytics student interns at GovTech’s Cybersecurity Group

Ethan Sim Gek Khang, a Year 3 student in SP Diploma in Applied AI & Analytics (DAAA) course, is gaining valuable experience during his year-long internship at GovTech’s Cybersecurity Group. In this role, he applies the practical skills honed during his studies to real-world challenges, such as setting data-driven thresholds, building dashboards, utilising AWS, and writing scripts for developers’ devices.

This hands-on experience has been an invaluable opportunity for Ethan to translate his classroom knowledge into action, tackling real-world cybersecurity challenges while expanding his technical skill set. His readiness for such responsibilities stems from the solid foundation he built during his time in SP. With its combination of technical depth and hands-on learning, the program prepared Ethan to navigate the complexities of the tech world and pick up new skills effortlessly.

Reflecting on his learning journey, Ethan shared:

“I am grateful that I had the opportunity to study in DAAA in SP. The comprehensive technical modules and hands-on training throughout the course helped me build a strong foundation to confidently tackle real-world challenges. This solid grounding has also enabled me to quickly learn new technologies beyond the course.
