My experience at SP was both enriching and transformative. One of the most valuable lessons I learned is that opportunities are always within reach, but they require a combination of courage and hard work to fully seize them.
SP provided me with a truly holistic education that extended beyond the classroom. The course modules offered a comprehensive overview of various areas in technology, allowing me to build a strong foundation across multiple disciplines. Beyond academics, SP also opened doors to numerous opportunities such as networking events, workshops, conferences, and leadership roles.
Currently, I just embarked on my university journey at Singapore Management University, where I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems.

Although I was diagnosed with dyslexia, which affected my ability to read, write and communicate effectively, I was determined to break the stigma. I enrolled in the Business Administration course in SP because the exposure-based learning appealed to me.
SP offers various opportunities to integrate design thinking with business which was crucial for my career. The supportive network here also helped me build a strong portfolio and navigate the challenges of business studies.
Upon graduating from SP, I leveraged SP resources such as the SP Entrepreneurship Centre (SPiNOFF) to develop and build my business. I am grateful for SP for providing the opportunities to eventually work with big brands such as Decathlon to further my dreams of giving new life to textile waste and transform them into new fashionable apparel.

I was more of a science and mathematics student. When I enrolled for Singapore Polytechnic, I wanted to do my Diploma in Bioengineering. However, I took a leap of faith into SP’s Diploma in Creative Media Design (now known as Diploma in Media, Arts & Design) instead!
The breadth of skillsets taught in SP really allowed me to understand the fundamentals of everything which really help when you go out into the real world, and you know what others are talking about. SP taught me to hone my creative problem solving skills through my Final Year Project (FYP) on branding, guided by my lecturer, Ms Shang, and it made a significant impact on my career path. This project taught me that while I might not be able to solve problems through science, I could still solve problems through creativity and design.

SP ignited my passion for medicine, allowing me to define my “possible” and pursue my dreams without any regret. SP provided me with invaluable experiences and the skills necessary for my career as an Accident & Emergency (A&E) doctor. The diverse projects, like the "Health Mapping Exercise", where we conducted door-to-door health screening services for low income residents living in rental flats, sharpened my leadership abilities and instilled a deep sense of community service in me.
With the various projects, activities, and CCAs that I was involved in, I had the opportunity to work and befriend many students from other faculties outside of CLS. This is highly valuable, versus a JC environment, as it directly translates to real-life work environment where we have to work with various walks of life.
Many lecturers from SP have been instrumental in guiding me in my younger days, and I owe a huge part of my success to them. Special mention to Dr Adrian Yeo and Mdm Mah Mon Moey. Especially Mdm Mah, who not only played the role of a lecturer, but at times also provided motherly care and advice to me.

I had an interest in shaping how people interact with and experience spaces, therefore I decided to pursue a Diploma in Architecture in SP. SP places a strong emphasis on practical, hands-on learning which thoroughly prepared me for real-world challenges such as working on industry related projects and internships. These provided insight into the professional practice and allowed me to develop crucial skills such as teamwork, problem solving and effective communication.
Also not forgetting the lasting friendships I've made while in SP, which provided for a solid support group and a helpful means for expanding your network and connections.
After graduating from SP, I continued to pursue Architecture in NUS, graduating with a Master of Architecture, before working full time in DP Architect (DPA), mainly on social and community centric typologies. With DPA, I’ve been fortunate to work on projects which have won various architectural awards, and have also further gone on to obtain my qualification as a registered Architect in Singapore.
