The School of Mathematics & Science (MS) focuses on building foundational skills in math, science, statistics, and analytics, preparing you for today’s job market. You'll get hands-on experience at SP in Physics Labs, the DevLab, and the AICoLab. Our programs have been getting students ready for work and lifelong learning since 1954.

Welcome to the School of Mathematics & Science (MS)!

At MS, we go beyond building strong foundational skills in mathematics, science, statistics, and analytics. We equip you with the critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and technical expertise sought-after in today's dynamic job market.

You'll be guided by a team of passionate and highly qualified lecturers. They are industry practitioners with real-world experience, bringing their expertise in mathematics, physics, AI, data analytics, engineering, business, and IT to the classroom.

What We Offer:

Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP): This one-year through-train program, launched in 2013 by MOE, provides a seamless pathway to prepare N(A) students for their diploma course of study in SP.
Common Core Curriculum (CCC): Jointly offered by MS and LSC (School of Life Skills & Communication) to all SP students, CCC integrated critical human and emerging digital skills that will allow our students to be versatile and thrive in the future, no matter which industry or job you go into.
Domain specific modules: We support mathematics, statistics, physics, IT and programming, and data analytics for all students in engineering, technology and business courses in SP.
Electives and Minor: We offer advanced Math and Physics to prepare students for University study, as well as a Minor in Data and AI, in collaboration with AISG, to train students to develop deep skills to work with data and AI.
Specialist Diplomas in Data Science & Short Courses: We offer specialist Diplomas focus in Data Analytics, Predicative Analytics and Visual & Language Analytics, and suits of short courses including Best-In-Class in AI, to meet the specialized educational and training needs of working adults.
Data Science and Analytics Centre: In 2017, MS set up the centre to support industry digital transformation, especially for small & medium enterprise (SME). This centre spearheads initiatives aligned with SkillsFuture and Industry Transformation. It fosters innovation, solution development, and training in the fields of AI, Data Science, and Analytics.
