What is the Common Science Programme about?

The Common Science Programme covers the core principles of science that impact our lives. In 2025, it will focus on technological advancements, AI, and sustainability. This programme is for those passionate about science but need practical experience to explore the diverse scientific disciplines available. You will start with the same first-year curriculum as other science diplomas.

By the end of the first year, you'll choose from the Diploma in Applied Chemistry, Biomedical Science, Food Science & Technology, or Perfumery & Cosmetic Science to focus on for the next two years.

How does science impact our daily lives?

Chemical and life sciences help us understand how things work, from our bodies to the environment.

Without these sciences, we wouldn't have many medicines, clean water, or safe food. They improve our daily lives by creating products and solutions that keep us healthy and safe.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

What will I study in the Common Science Programme?

Common Science Programme students will be offered similar Year 1 curriculum as students from the CLS diplomas in Applied Chemistry, Biomedical Science, Food Science & Technology and Perfumery & Cosmetic Science. The modules that they will take in Years 2 and 3 will depend on the diploma that they will be placed into.
