On October 29 2024, a selected group of female students from the School of Computing (SoC) visited Cognizant, a global leader in digital transformation, thanks to STEM ConnectHER. This visit aimed to expose students to tech careers and digital innovation.
Held at Cognizant's One-North office, the day started with a welcome from Pratibha Khurnool, Head of Social Impact at Cognizant APAC, who shared the company's vision and commitment to positive tech impacts. Students explored Cognizant’s collaborative and innovative work environment, gained insights into tech roles in government and public service projects, and learned about the importance of ethical practices from Loo Lai Mee, an Ethics and Compliance Lead. Recent graduates shared their career journeys and advice, and students engaged with Cognizant leaders in a Q&A and fireside chat about career growth and the skills needed in tech.
The visit ended with a networking session, allowing students to connect with professionals and gain career advice. This experience showcased potential tech career paths and the impact of technology.
