9 July 2024 - Dr Lek Jia Jia, an esteemed SP alumna and lecturer from the University of Melbourne, shared her expertise on advancements in diagnosing and managing age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Our Year 2 and Year 3 Optometry students attended this enlightening session, who are currently undergoing clinical training at the
SP Optometry Centre (SPOC).
Dr Lek's interactive presentation provided our students with the latest updates in AMD, enhancing their understanding and skills in examining, diagnosing, and managing patients with this condition. Her insights underscored the significance of staying abreast with current developments in primary eye care and helped broaden the students' perspectives on their future careers as optometrists.
