SP Optometry students attended Zeiss Myopia Symposium 2024

Ten students and two staff from the SP Diploma in Optometry (DOPT) attended the Continuing Education Myopia Management Symposium, co-organised with Carl Zeiss Vision on 13 June 2024. This symposium was designed to explore advancements in myopia management and provide valuable learning opportunities for our community. The symposium featured engaging sessions that delved into the evolution, current trends, and future prospects of myopia management. Students and staff had the privilege to interact with experts, who shared profound insights on historical practices, cutting-edge innovations, and essential tools necessary for effective myopia management. The participation in this symposium has proven highly beneficial. They acquired a comprehensive understanding of myopia management techniques, ranging from traditional methods to the latest advancements. The practical applications discussed during the symposium have equipped our participants with skills directly applicable in clinical practice, significantly enhancing their professional development. Networking with industry leaders at the symposium proved pivotal for DOPT students and staff, fostering meaningful discussions and idea exchanges aimed at influencing future optometric practice. Engaging directly with esteemed leaders provided valuable insights into emerging trends and technologies shaping the field.
