The Singapore Institute of Food Science and Technology (SIFST) invited students from polytechnics, undergraduates, and post-graduates to contribute papers to the SIFST Student Symposium 2023, focusing on food science and technology. The symposium offers a chance to attend the Asean Food Conference in Sarawak.
Among competing entries, three students from the
Diploma in Food Science & Technology course stood out with their Industry Paid project "Application of Medium Chain Triglyceride (MCT) in plant-based meat development" winning the Merit award. This collaborative endeavour, in partnership with KLK OLEO, aimed to capitalise on the advantages of MCTs to enhance the health attributes of plant-based meat products, aligning seamlessly with the growing demand for sustainable and nutritionally rich food choices.
