On 11 April 2024, 27 students from the
Common Science Programme (DCSP) participated in a community service event at Willing Hearts, a secular and non-affiliated charity organisation in Singapore. Willing Hearts relies heavily on volunteers to produce and distribute 7,000 meals daily to beneficiaries, including low-income families, the elderly, disabled individuals, children from single-parent or impoverished families, and migrant workers.
During the event, the student volunteers assisted at various stations, such as loading and unloading delivery trucks, cutting and preparing ingredients, and packaging care packages. They worked the afternoon shift from 1 pm to 5 pm, contributing meaningfully to society before starting their second year of study. This event marked the first DCSP Student’s Chapter community service initiative.
