Students from the Diploma in Biomedical Science (DBS) course showcased their exceptional talents and dedication at the Young Scientists’ Symposium (YSS) held on 14 March 2024. This significant event, jointly organized by the Singapore Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SSBMB) and the Singapore Science Centre, serves as a platform for polytechnic students with a strong inclination towards research to exhibit their achievements.
Tan Ming Jen Luke, a Year 3 DBS student, clinched the Merit Award (second prize) in the Oral Presentation category with his presentation titled “Beyond the Grave: Studying Hypersialyation of the Tumour Necroptotic Core with Siglecs”. Additionally, DBS students excelled in the Poster Presentation category, with Inez Yin Huixian, Khoo Zhi Yi Elyse, Shea Skyler Tan Zi Ru, and Sophie Emma Tan securing Merit awards in this category.
